I have always been very fond of breakfast. I can eat breakfast food at any time of the day. But my interest for breakfast goes beyond just the food. I always admire people who take time to get up and prepare breakfast. Be it for themselves or for other people.
I was having a conversation with a friend one time while we were having some sorta breakfast/snack. I told him that I would really appreciate a guy asking me out for a breakfast date rather than dinner. Not that I am bored during dinner dates, I just want mostly something different. Hence breakfast 🙂
I always believe that you share that moment with people that actually matters or you care about. It sounds cheesy or corny I know, but that’s how I see it. It’s a very special time of the day where you choose to spend it with people that are not random. Imagine waking up extra early to have breakfast with someone you don’t really like – possible?! Nope, I don’t think so. I’d rather sleep longer than ruin my morning. Or on weekends when you wake up early to prepare breakfast for your family. It’s not something that you do for everyone or anyone out of the ordinary, in fact it is something that you have a full control on.
It also gives you more time to spend with that person since you have the whole day. You can either have things to do together after that or go separate ways and you still have time to do other things. I’m not saying dinner dates restrict you from that. But you don’t have the luxury of time during dinner. Everything seems to be in a hurry to go to main event of the night. Sometimes I hate to say “let’s call it a night” when I am with good company during dinner. Whereas for breakfast, you can actually enjoy your time together even if that means you start from 9am and end at around 5pm – the place is still open.
I know you can also put effort in preparing food for lunch or dinner. You prepare food or you find a good restaurant. But as I’ve said earlier, breakfast requires more effort and I find it really interesting because we make time for it. Whether it’s breakfast at home or somewhere else, it will require you to get out of your usual morning routine especially if you are doing it with someone.
Now I just nee to accept that wine is not a good breakfast drink. lol!
So, let’s have breakfast date instead! 🙂
